Atomos has been developing amazing recording and monitoring technology for over a decade. Shinobi II has been redesigned with a slimmer new enclosure and a 50% brighter display, yet still manages to include all of our renowned HDR display processing technology and professional monitoring tools.
Perfect for video and photography
Shinobi II runs all day on a single battery and offers a host of professional monitoring features. Precisely configure your shots using our advanced histograms, waveforms, and video scopes. A multi-tool analysis view gives you all the essential information at a glance. There's even a selfie mirror mode for vloggers. Shinobi II is the perfect accessory to enhance any photo or video production.
Camera control
Camera control via the monitor has been a much-requested feature from original Shinobi users, and it's now possible thanks to the addition of a USB-C connection.
Using specially designed on-screen sliders, you can adjust white balance, lens aperture, shutter speed/angle, and ISO. A red-bordered display indicates when the camera is recording internally, whether triggered by the camera or the Shinobi II.
At launch, Shinobi II will be able to control most Canon, Panasonic, and Sony mirrorless cameras via USB-C, as well as all Z CAM E2 series models (a separately purchased LANC cable is required). Cameras from Fujifilm, Nikon, OM System, and SIGMA will be supported with future firmware updates.
Cable lock
Atomos has developed a unique, robust locking ecosystem to maintain a secure grip on connected HDMI and USB-C cables, and Shinobi II comes with a dedicated stand to facilitate this. With Atomos Locking Cables (purchased separately), it's the most robust capture cable system available today. Shinobi II is also fully compatible with standard non-locking cables.
Impact monitor
With its stunning 5-inch 10-bit HDR/SDR display, the Shinobi II lets you see your images clearly, even in bright daylight. The 1500-nit display features a special anti-reflective coating and anti-fingerprint technology.
High dynamic range
The Shinobi II display shows a dynamic range of over 10 stops in real time from Log/PQ/HLG signals. Combined with our unique HDR monitoring features, the Shinobi II simplifies the complexities of Log and HDR shooting, helping you replicate post-production workflows when it matters most: while shooting. We take care of the technology so you can focus on the picture.
Calibrated colors
Calibration is key to a reliable monitor. Shinobi II can be calibrated with an X-Rite/Calibrite probe or the Atomos Calibrator app for accurate and consistent HDR and Rec. 709 monitoring. Accurate monitoring ensures reliable results.
Slender splendor
Shinobi is a portable camera, and while we've added more hardware features, we've redesigned and reshaped its body to keep the weight down to just 210 grams. Lightweight and stylish, Shinobi II is your camera's new best friend.
