An inherently flexible focal length, the Sony E-mount 35mm f/2 DG DN Contemporary Lens from Sigma is a stylish wide-angle lens that combines a brilliant design with a portable form factor.
The wide standard field of view is useful for a wide range of subject types, including landscapes, street, and reportage shots, and the f/2 maximum aperture excels in challenging lighting and allows for greater control over depth of field.
In terms of optical design, three aspherical elements and one SLD element are used to minimize a variety of aberrations and distortions for sharp, accurate image reproduction. Additionally, a Super Multi-Layer Coating helps control ghosting and flare for improved color fidelity and contrast.
In terms of handling and focusing, this lens features a stepping motor for fast, quiet AF performance that suits both photography and video applications. As a Series I lens, this lens also features a manual aperture ring and an all-metal barrel constriction for improved tactility.
