The optical design includes two aspherical elements and two ED (Extra-low Dispersion) elements, which reduce spherical and chromatic aberrations to deliver rich, sharp image quality even at the maximum aperture of F1.4. Image quality is further enhanced by Fujifilm’s proprietary HT-EBC coating applied to all lens surfaces and the Nano-GI coating on the rear surface of the G1 lens. These coatings alter the refractive index between the glass and air, reducing ghosting and flare in diagonally incident light.
