For extensive exploration or detailed observation, the Leica Duovid 8+12x42 binoculars offer a practical solution. These two-in-one binoculars offer the option of 8x or 12x magnification, while maintaining brightness thanks to their generous 42mm diameter. Having two magnification factors in a single pair of binoculars greatly increases the versatility of this product. Selecting one magnification factor or the other requires only slight adjustments. The diopter setting remains unchanged even when changing from 8x to 12x thanks to the ADC (Automatic Dioptric Compensation) function.
The eyepieces, designed based on ergonomic principles, have two positions, offering maximum viewing comfort, even for those who wear glasses.
The aluminum construction and O-ring seals make these binoculars very durable. Thanks to the replacement of oxygen inside the barrel with nitrogen, they offer remarkable fog resistance. The Geovid binoculars are waterproof to 5 meters.
The optical design is based on a straight (roof) prism with P40 phase-correction optical coating and HighLux System, for increased brightness, improved depth of field, and faithful color reproduction. The other optical elements feature Leica's HDC multi-coating.
The focusing system is internal, to keep the binoculars' length constant, and is controlled by a generously sized central control, all of which helps to improve observation stability.
