Building on the success of the Ultravid HD binoculars, the Leica 7x42 Ultravid HD Plus adds improved technologies and materials to create a look with bright, clear images across the entire field of view. The HD Plus offers improved contrast and true color fidelity with near-zero distortion, even in low-light conditions. Leica has enhanced the specially formulated Schott HT glass, which increases light transmission, especially in the blue-violet light band, improving color fidelity and improving low-light performance. Scratch- and abrasion-resistant (HDC) coating and AquaDurada hydrophobic coating on the exterior protect surfaces and allow water and oil to bead up for easier cleaning and clearer viewing. The roof prisms feature P40 phase correction and High Lux System (HLS) coatings. These coatings eliminate near-chromatic aberration for improved color reproduction and higher contrast.
