Easy operation in portrait orientation
The VG-C4EM provides operational controls almost identical to those on the camera body. The button placement, size, and shape are optimized, utilizing the same material used on the α7R IV body. As a result, the function, location, and operational feel of the controls mimic those on the camera body when held vertically.

The clever grip design allows you to hold the camera firmly. The Vertical Grip makes taking photos easy and fun, whether you're holding the camera horizontally or vertically, making it easier to focus on your subject and composition.
The effective operating time was doubled
The VG-C4EM can hold one or two NP-FZ100 batteries. When using two batteries, the camera will operate for almost twice as long as when using a single battery. The remaining battery charge is indicated on the LCD screen in 1% increments. When one battery is depleted, the camera automatically switches to the other, allowing continuous operation.
Lightweight and durable magnesium alloy body
The exterior of the VG-C4EM is made from the same magnesium alloy used in the α7R IV body, to provide the same rigidity as the α7R IV camera, but keep weight and volume to a minimum.
Recharge batteries or supply power via USB
The batteries in the vertical grip can be recharged via the camera's USB port, without removing the grip from the camera. For extended shooting sessions, additional power can be supplied directly to the camera via the camera's USB port1 using a mobile battery or AC adapter to supplement the battery's power.
Reliable dust/moisture resistance
The camera grip accessory features the same sealing material used on the camera body to prevent the ingress of dust and moisture. This improves the overall reliability of the camera system.
