The Sony FE 50/1.2 GM is a classic normal focal length lens in a contemporary, compact, and elegant design. It's a standard lens that can be used in a wide variety of situations, from portraits and landscapes to documentary subjects. Its bright aperture allows you to shoot in low-light conditions while controlling the depth of field. In addition, its G Master lens features an advanced optimal design that corrects images with a high degree of clarity and sharpness.

Maximum brightness in an 11-leaf mechanism
Its f/1.2 aperture and 11-blade circular aperture mechanism contribute to the superb G Master bokeh that really makes portraits and other subjects pop from the background. Three XA (eXtreme Aspherical) elements provide excellent spherical aberration control by reducing a variety of aberrations, color fringing, and distortion.

Nano ArII coating
Suppresses flare and ghosting to improve image contrast. Balancing the optics is an XD Linear Motor system that utilizes four separate focusing motors to deliver exceptionally quiet, precise, and fast autofocus performance.

Compact and sealed design
Its design allows it to be used in very adverse conditions: resistance to dust, humidity and fluorine coating on the lens to shoot in very adverse conditions obtaining the best results.

Designed for Sony E-mount and APS-C (75mm equivalent)
The 50mm normal perspective lens is designed for full-frame Sony E-mount mirrorless cameras; however, it can also be used with APS-C models where it provides a 75mm equivalent focal length.

Three XA elements are incorporated into the lens design
They feature superior surface precision for effective control over astigmatism, field curvature, coma, distortion, and other spherical aberrations for a high degree of sharpness and accurate rendering.

Consists of four XD linear motors and an internal focusing design
They provide fast, quiet, and precise autofocus performance. This design also contributes to a more natural and intuitive linear response manual focus control, and an AF/MF switch is located on the lens barrel for tactile control over these settings.

Focus hold button
A focus hold button is included on the lens barrel for intuitive tactile control and quick access to selected settings.

Silent aperture ring
The physical aperture ring click can be removed for smooth, quiet aperture shifting for the benefit of video applications.
