Super wide-angle lens for landscape and architectural photography

With a focal length equivalent to 18mm in 35mm format, this super-wide-angle lens is optimal for photographing landscapes and architectural elements. Featuring a 12-group, 15-element construction utilizing two aspherical lenses, one Super ED lens, and three ED lenses, this lens suppresses distortion despite being a super-wide-angle lens with a 99.9° angle of view. Furthermore, thanks to the optimal arrangement of the Super ED lens and three ED lenses, chromatic aberration resulting from magnification is completely suppressed, achieving high resolution across the entire image, including the edges.

Nano GI Coating

The Nano GI coating applied to the lens acts on light entering the lens from diagonal angles, which is typical of super-wide-angle lenses. Despite being a super-wide-angle lens, flare and reflection formation have been effectively eliminated.

Fast and silent AF

It adopts an internal AF system that lightens the weight of the focusing lens, and thanks to the linear motor that drives the elements, fast and quiet AF is achieved, allowing for comfortable shooting.

The lens is dust and weather resistant, and can operate in temperatures down to -10°C

The lens is sealed at nine points, allowing you to shoot confidently and stably even in dusty locations or during light rain.

High operability

The aperture ring has a C (Command Dial Mode) position, which allows the lens's aperture value to be changed via the camera body's command dial. A locking mechanism has been added to the A (Auto) and C positions to prevent the aperture dial from moving unintentionally.
