The 18-50mm F2.8 DC DN | Contemporary is SIGMA's first zoom lens for APS-C-sized mirrorless cameras. Its versatile zoom range, equivalent to 27-75mm in full-frame format, makes it ideal for a wide variety of photographic and video applications, including landscape, portrait, street, architectural, and event photography.
It can also be used for macro-style close-ups thanks to its 1:2.8 magnification factor (at its widest focal length), which provides a minimum focusing distance of just 12.1 centimeters. Its bright F2.8 aperture makes handheld shooting in low light easier and provides a shallow depth of field for striking results.
Autofocus is exceptionally fast and quiet thanks to the pulse motor, which can be particularly useful when shooting video or capturing fast-moving subjects. Its extremely small and lightweight form factor (weighing less than 300 grams) makes it a perfect choice as a primary lens, and it is also well-suited as a secondary lens for full-frame cameras (using the APS-C crop mode) and for a variety of shooting situations.
