XD motors with fast, precise and steady autofocus
Dual XD Linear Motors deliver fast, precise autofocus and reliable tracking. The SEL600F40GM delivers the best of today's bodies, maintaining precise focus on moving wildlife and sports subjects. Its specially developed control algorithm allows the focus group to be positioned quickly with minimal lag and vibration.

The new XA element offers excellent resolution and bokeh
The G Master's optical design employs three fluorite elements to eliminate chromatic aberration, which can be a problem in telephoto lenses. It also includes a large XA element to suppress circular bokeh. Each lens is individually calibrated to achieve the ideal balance between resolution and bokeh. High-performance 1.4x and 2.0x telephoto lenses with XA elements are also available.

Excellent mobility: the lightest in its class
This lens weighs just 3040g (including tripod mount) and achieves an ideal balance with E-mount bodies, facilitating easy handling and control. It enables smooth, precise panning without a tripod or monopod.

Reliability and resistance to adverse conditions
The dust- and moisture-resistant design3 offers the reliability needed for use in harsh conditions, and the front lens element features a fluorine coating that repels water, oil, and other contaminants. Additionally, for maximum durability, magnesium alloy is used on the lens exterior, tripod mount, and critical areas within the body.

Advanced features for professional needs
When Full-time DMF is enabled, manual focus is activated by rotating the focus ring, even in AF-C mode. Optical SteadyShot stabilization includes Mode 2 for panoramic shots and Mode 3 for sports or wildlife photography. The latter also offers a more stable image for easier framing.
