An ideal second lens to complement any photographer's basic lens kit, this high-quality 28mm full-frame wide-angle lens features a bright F2.0 maximum aperture, ideal for handheld shooting in low light.
Lightweight, compact, and designed to resist dust and moisture, this lens makes an ideal companion to Sony’s acclaimed α7 series of full-frame camera bodies, and features a high-grade aluminum finish that’s sure to appeal at first glance. A 9-blade circular aperture with three aspherical elements, including one AA (Advanced Aspherical) element, and two ED glass elements ensure superb edge-to-edge sharpness and delightfully out-of-focus areas. All lens surfaces are multi-coated to suppress flare and ghosting in backlit photography.
The internal focusing mechanism is driven by an advanced linear motor that ensures extremely quiet autofocusing and allows the overall length of the lens to remain constant during focusing.
And for even wider perspectives, the optional SEL075UWC Ultra Wide Angle and SEL057FEC Fisheye Converters expand the angle of view to 21 or 16 mm for full 180° coverage. The maximum aperture of each converter, mounted on the SEL28F20, is F2.8 and F3.5 respectively. For the first time on an α lens converter, EXIF data is now generated for each converter attached to the lens.
